On Holidays to Czechia

By paolatrips , 2008-07-31 19:14:33 in Traveling & Holiday

Not so long ago I found an interesting advertisement on the internet that influenced my decision to spend the next vacation in Czech Republic. I have always been interested in this wonderful country as it has almost common culture with other Slavic countries. Besides, in Prague they have a very interesting offer for tourists. September, 6 there will be organized a free of charge tourist bus route called Cool tour linka. I think it is an excellent opportunity for me to see almost all the Prague sights and visit several of its museums. I have always wanted to see the Antonin Dvorzhak Museum. I like the music by this composer, so I think it is a great chance to see how the composer lived. I am also longing to visit the exhibition "The Prague Cafes" and the exhibition by Jan Makh. I will also try not to miss my chance and visit one of the Prague restaurants. Czech cuisine is considered to be one of the most delicious in the world. So, I think I shouldn’t waste the time and I should book a vacation in Czechia as soon as possible.

Delicious Lithuanian Cuisine

By paolatrips , 2008-07-11 19:10:27 in Traveling & Holiday

I cannot say that I can eat everything I will be offered. On the contrary, I am very capricious when it refers to food. But when I was on holidays in Lithuania together with my mother, I really enjoyed the Lithuanian cuisine. Maybe it was because the Lithuanian cuisine was similar to Russian one (it is also very delicious). I will never forget the warm Lithuanian rye bread. It is very wholesome for the health and when accompanied with the delicious Lithuanian cheese, you have a feeling that life is very beautiful. I also noticed that the Lithuanians pay much attention to potato. Those who have so-called dachas, grow this vegetable there. Besides, they make really tasty dishes from it. Once on holidays in Lithuania, I and my mom tried a potato pudding, or kugelis, as it called there. Frankly speaking, I have never thought it was possible to make pudding from potato but in fact it appeared to be very nutritious and delicious. Vedere, another product made of potato was my mother’s favorite thing. But in my opinion, it was for those who was keen on it, like my mother. We tasted many other delicious dishes from the Lithuanian cuisine and I came up to the conclusion that I should learn to cook at least some Lithuanian national dishes as they were really yummy.

Memories of San Bartolomeo al Mare

By paolatrips , 2008-06-29 17:26:09 in Traveling & Holiday

Of course, vacation is the best time in every person’s life. And I am not an exception here. I had an excellent rest in San Bartolomeo al Mare, Liguria. I should admit that I fell in love with the city at a first sight. This wonderful city is located on the seaside. This is even mentioned in it is name "al Mare". This city is really very alive during the summer months as many people come there to spend their summer vacation. As for me, I do not like crowded places a lot, that’s why I went there in the end of September. It was a perfect time to visit this city as it was not hot at all and the sea was still warm. There are also many interesting sights to see there. I especially liked the small country church of San Rocco located in Borgata Freschi. There is a legend that once a saint stopped to have a rest there. After that time the outline of his body is impressed in the rock. This church a special atmosphere that I liked a lot. And this is not all. They also make very delicious olive oil there. In Ponte dei Richieri there are a lot of ancient oil mills. I saw the process of making olive oil with my own eyes. I was really impressed and even brought some with me. On the whole, I really enjoyed holidays in Liguria and the next time I am going to spend my next vacation in Ventimiglia.
